CINEMA - THEATRE - HERITAGE
FOR
FUTURE GENERATIONS
Kine-Technik is the organisation formed with the intention of rescuing, preserving and exhibiting Cinema & Theatre equipment and artefacts in order to preserve them for future generations.
Presently, no museum exists in Wales for the display and exhibtion of artefacts relating to what was an important part of people's lives prior to the television and digital age.
Local cinemas and theatres had a vast impact on lives and cultures as both entertainment and education. The technical achievments and innovations created for these entertainment mediums are virtually unsung and rapidly diminishing as the cinema & theatre buildings they played their part in are demolished and redeveloped.
Wales was unique in the way entertainment was brought to the towns and valleys, the local miners formed comittees to build and run the local cinemas theatres and workmens halls
for their local communities.
Many artefacts have been rescued from these historic sites, restored and preserved over the past 30 years by the founders of Kine-Technik.
The ongoing aim of Kine-Technik is to establish a living museum where these items can be viewed and demonstrated in an entertaining and educational enviroment.
